1. Please save the current template that you ahve been working on into shared/cit/student work/year 11/work to be marked/
Please save it WITH YOUR NAME IN THE FILE NAME - e.g. Joe Bloggs design template
In yesterday's post I put a list of revision topics for the mock - work on that.
Year 10s
USe today's lesson to complete as much outstanding coursework as you can - nothing new today - it's time to make sure that you are as up to date as you can make it.
Wednesday, November 11, 2009
You have Chapters across the top - 10 in all, and each chapter is made up of 9 slides - click on story board in the bottom left to see them.
Monday, November 09, 2009
You will need to discuss what makes for a good picture story - the SUCCESS CRITERIA. This is a list of things that your story should be like - at the end this is what we'll be using to mark each others work - You'll get the chance to look at different stories and then grade them as to whether they meet the success criteria or not. You need to think about two different sets of things in the success critiera - 1 lot which is all about the picture book that you have made and the second lot about the language that you are using.
Shared/ICT/Year 7/myths and legends.ppt.
The way the software works is that you can have up to 10 chapters, and each chapter can have 9 pages.
Stories often have beginnings (where you set the scene, describe what is going on etc) A middle (where the stuff happens) and an end (where everything gets explained) You'll also need to think about what characters you are going to have etc.
RULES:
Boys- no wars, fights or gun stories. It's ok to have a murder for example if you were telling a police story, but NOT just fighting fighting fighting like you all try to do in Drama!
Sunday, November 08, 2009
you are going to be writing a picture book aimed at KS2 students telling them about a famous historical event. The project will be in several parts - As I have already mentioned, planning and evaluating are more important than just doing "stuff" ,so for the IT bit we have to produce a plan - and that is what we'll be looking at today. Later on we get to actually put things together, and then we'll evaluate it. #

All year 11 lessons (11B and C)
Work to complete coursework – READ the instructions and follow them! Ask another member of the class if in doubt.
Revision questions:
Shared/ICT/GCSE ICT/Exam questions/
Questions grouped by topic. Within each topic there are all the foundation and higher questions ever published by the exam board, along with answers and the examiner’s report for each question. Choose a topic and see how many questions can be answered. Use text books to research gaps …
If you have a memory stick, copy these resources to use in the hols.
Mr Bidgood will be coming round next week with a pen drive – it is IMPORTANT that you copy ALL your ICT coursework onto the pen drive so that I can mark it. If you do not hand it in I will be forced to write to your parents to explain why you may fial your GCSE.
All Year 9 lessons.
Students should make sure that coursework is completed, and then use the evaluation sheet in shared/ICT/year 9 ICT/Drama production project/ to collect feedback and put together evidence to support their work.
Year 8S1
Complete web pages and fill in planning doc.
Go to shared/ict/and use the feedback sheet to collect user feedback.
Think about the comment on improvements that you have received – are they realistic? could you actually do them effectively?
Suggest how you could make the site more effective if you were doing it again.
Go through level descriptors and check that all tasks are completed for your level
Year 7s
design a qestionnaire to use for students to fill in their details to put into your database.
Format it properly to collect in useful data:
e.g. Name __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ would collect better quality data than:
Name: _______________________
Start Year: [ ][ ][ ][ ] is better than Start year: ________________
etc.
Design a poster to advertise the service that you provide. Your audience is students aged 11-14.

Period 2 – 11C
coursework!
Please remind students of the deadline of the end of this term for completing their coursework. They should check the spreadsheet in:
Shared/ICT/grades
To see what they need to do for projects 1a, 1b and 2.
Anyone who has completed a section and can explain to someone else what to do will be thanked when I get back!
For latest versions of guidance for 1a and 1b, see :
Shared/ict/gcseict/1a/project 1a template2
And
Shared/ict/gcseict/1b/project 1b template up to grade A
… for ideas.
Periods 4 and 5
9S and 9H
Students have been producing promotional materials for a school production of Joseph. (posters and a flyer)
In shared/ICT/Year 9/drama production project/ they should open the evaluation sheet and work through it.
If they need help adding links to their existing work, they can click on the video clips, and a demo is there to show them what to do.
Lesson 1:
Year 8S1
Students are creating web pages to promote Tenbury. They have 2 lessons remaining in which to complete their work, and also do their evaluations. If this means that they need to go to the IT room at lunchtime, then they should do so!
Task 1: Go to Shared/ICT/ and there is a word doc called something like feedback.doc
They should use this to get someone else to review their work and give constructive criticism. (please remind them what this means!)
They do NOT have to make the suggested changes, so long as they can explain why not.
Also, they have a planning sheet that they used at the start of the project. Screenshots and comments for all the pages that they have created need to be placed in this doc in the relevant sections.
Lesson 5:
9T
Students have been producing promotional materials for a school production of Joseph. (posters and a flyer)
In shared/ICT/Year 9/drama production project/ they should open the evaluation sheet and work through it.
If they need help adding links to their existing work, they can click on the video clips, and a demo is there to show them what to do.
They should use this to get someone else to review their work and give constructive criticism. (please remind them what this means!)
They do NOT have to make the suggested changes, so long as they can explain why not.
This doc aims to bring together all the work done so far as a portfolio or end of unit assessment.
They should be finishing this off, along with their posters etc. today and next week.
